I got it in to a local dealer right away and they diagnosed it as:
"Groove in cap (radiator)"
"leak in radiator"
"thermo stuck closed - no coolant flow"
"noisy cooling fan"

They quoted a price of $1620 to replace the radiator and "cooling fan assembly". When I questioned the price, they told me a new rad. was $500 and the new fan assembly was $400. Is that REALLY possible?

BTW... I called a NAPA parts supplier and got a quote for $350 total. Mytax dollars arealready bailing out Chrysler. I'm not bailing out the local dealer too!!
Is the dealer affiliated with Lincoln Park Towing Service?

Do you have the "Auto Down" feature on the top 2 switches
They do have the "Auto" feature. I'll have to pop out the switches and take a look if they have lights. Again, refering to the posted PDF service manual. Man, that thing is going to get used a bunch!

I don't know. They own a couple dealerships here in the Chicago area. Ironic that the name starts with "Man...". They are more like weasels !

The aftermarket fan and radiator may not have been a good idea after all.

The upper radiator outlet does not bolt on as the OEM did. This may prove to be a challenge when trying to install the fan.

The new fan "assembly" is also missing the ceramic resistor. In fact, there is no place to mount it either. The wiring harness will not fit this fan unless I use the ceramic resistor and harness extension. Could NAPA possibly given me the wrong fan? Is there a different fan for the smaller 1.6L or non-torbo models?

wonder if thats the same as radiators.com? My top tank started leaking in my Jeep back in about '04, and I replaced it witha full brass one. $300 for the part and no problems.
