Default Cost for an oil pan?

I've wrestled with the oil drain plug on my wife's PT the last two weekends to no avail.

Two oil changes ago was the last time it went to a quick lube. When I changed it the first time myself, I asusmed they over tightened it because I couldn't get it out then, either. I torqued it to spec (14 ft-lb, iirc)

Yesterday was me, new vice grips and a hammer versus the stupid plug. I've shredded about half the plug and not moved the stupid thing a single millimeter.

I assume it is entirely seized up/fused.

What's an oil pan cost? I've seen a few listings online and they are all over the place price wise- is the dealer the best source for a new pan?

Yes. Especially if you want it quickly. Not real hard to do but you will need a lift or some way to get the front end off the ground. Pays about 2 hrs labor, roughly. If the threads aren't damaged you could probably get it off with the right tool. I have a set that is made for just that. Works like a charm. Vice grips aren't that great for doing that as you have found out.
