Default Another PT Newbie

Hello PT forums

Not new to the PT world or the world of forums. My name is Al and I am the caretaker of my wife Valerie's PT '03 PT Cruiser named Peedie, which we bought new. I'm an owner of a '00 New Beetle GLS 1.8t, which my wife calls 'the other woman'

So my lovely wife wants me to effort some of my beetle time to her Peedie, so here I am. Hopefully she'll get involved in the forums and some of the GTG's as well.

Looking forward to the information you all have gathered, so my Mr. Fix-it ventures will be successful.

See ya around.

Thanks! I think I might be able to get my wife involved in the local scene. I'm pretty heavy in the new beetle scene, so any PT involvement will be due to the wife. She loves the beetle GTG's so I think I can persuade Her to involve Her PT

it's funny you mention pics. We're always getting on the beetle newbies on the beetle forum to post pics, and here i am without nary a pic to post I'll get out and post some pics with the next day. Peedie is squeaking real bad and i need to shoot some lube around His joints tomorrow. I'll get them pics up soon.

I must say that there's a lot of good looking PT's here in the Jacksonville area. I'm looking forward to meeting up with the Jax PT crew!

Thanks for the welcome

Peedie has 93,451 miles. I've already done the plugs and wires. Thanks for the advice- good lookin' out! It was a chore just to get to the plugs and wires though, but I got them done.

I'm pretty well mechanically inclined. My wife says i'm too mechanically inclined with my beetle, more than I am with Peedie, hence the term she's given my car.."the other woman". So i've been much better and now I'm vesting more time with Peedie.

The PT is a cool car though and I was considering one at the time I bought my beetle. I'm happy with my choice and besides Val has Peedie, so I have the best of both worlds and She loves her Peedie to boot!

Welcome to the site also..Here it's the opposite I have an 01 LE PT and my wife has an 01 vw Beetle with the 1.8 Turbo. I go to one of the Beetle sites for my wife car for info sometimes also. But I like the PT better than the New Beetle though, except I wish I had a turbo too.

This is funny you have a PT & Beetle...
because this is my first PT and when driving... the view sometimes strikes me as the 'Bug I never had'. LOL
I'm used to seeing a hood through the windshield so that's why the PT sometimes seems like a bug - although its a little roomier than the old bugs I've been in.
Welcome.

Your wife should check out newbeetle.org. I'm a member there. It's a member friendly site without a lot of testosterone competitions.

It is funny that it's the opposite for you. There's many beetle manly-men out there, present company included

Welcome.
You'd be surprised on the room of a New Beetle. I'm 6'2" and the leg and head room is unbelievable. Although the nB embraces the styling of the old beetle, it's not your dad's bug- heck it's not my bug of old...i'm not exactly a 21 year strapping young lad

I wish the seats on the PT could go up and down though. It would take the cool factor to a whole other level.
