Hi,
I have an '02 Dream Cruiser, manual trans. While driving home, I depressed the clutch and heard a loud metallic snap from under the dash- upon investigation, an approx. 2-inch long and less 1/8" diameter pin, wear on one side and clean break on the other, was on the floor mat at my foot. It was covered in fluid. I looked over the clutch diagrams at the dealer (drove it about 1.2 miles) and I am not sure what piece this is. Does the clutch assembly inside the firewall have a hydraulic cylinder with some type of pushrod? When I look up under the dash, I see some fluid has leaked in the clutch assembly. This would be above the pedal mechanism. Any ideas? D

I would guess that the pin may have been what held the master piston in the cylinder. Since the manuals show this as an assembly, you either need to replace the entire unit or take it apart, see if you can figure out what part wore out, and see if you can find a replacement.
Unless you are really very handy I'd buy the clutch master cylinder. The only other possibility is is someone makes a rebuild kit for it (but I doubt it). |
