Default New owner needs help QUICK

Hi everyone,
I just bought my PT Cruiser 3 days ago, and I need a question answered in a hurry. My car is an 06 PT Cruiser Touring Edition convertible, with only 10,000 1 owner miles. It was advertised as having the 2.4 L turbo...which was a major selling point for me. After looking through the owners manual, I'm now wondering if I actually have a turbo. The top of my engine cover does not say "Turbo" on it, and my speedo only goes to 120 mph. Also, my power steering reservoir is near the firewall, not towards the front of the engine. To add to the confusion, I have the 8K tachometer. Sorry for my lack of knowledge regarding the engine...can someone tell me if this is a turbo or not? Finally...if it indeed is not a turbo, what should I do? I really love the little car already, and I'd hate to try to take it back to the dealer because they misrepresented it.

Dave

Welcome.
Sorry. I don't think turbo was an option on Touring edition - Limited only - at least that was how it was in '05.
Open the hood - the intake goes to back of engine - on a turbo, another large pipe goes down by radiator to intercooler.
Anything in writing from dealer that says turbo?
I always assume a dealer is lying until I have proof to the contrary - sorry, but that is from experience.
If you were lied to: At the minumum, call your local Better Business Bureau and lodge a complaint, and call the dealer and tell them you will tell everyone you know - and then tell everyone you know - to avoid the dealer.

Heck yeah if you've got it in writing (an ad etc) that it was a turbo and it's not (if you can't figure it out take it to your garage and ask) then the dealer is in a world of horse pucky.

If you like the car anyway you should be able to get serious $ back.

Let's hope it's the turbo though

Pete
