Default I am here to say . . .

. . . that the dealer's product for convertible tops is far better than RaggTopp

I used RaggTopp last winter. I never noticed anything special about my top during the winter . This year I used Mopar's version (which they say is for Vipers). Even the ice pools up! It's amazing! I notice every time I come out to my car after rain or freezing rain (the past two weeks we've had a lot of this) that I have bubbles on my rag top . This stuff simply won't let the water settle and soak . I'm tellin' ya, this is a dealer item worth the overpriced sales tag ($17.95)

Also, another tidbit. I am using the Prestone Ice Shield on my windows -- works like a champ!

Thanks. I've used Rain-X on the window's, will try the Prestone. My Cruiser is not a convert; but I have a Miata and will try the Mopar stuff on its top.

Ditto on the Prestone Ice shield. If you remember to spray your windows before you go to bed at night you can just hit your wipers the next morning instead of being covered with frost. It is really good on those really cold days when the frost redevelopes as you scrape. And don't even think of trying to use the washers, you'll just have more to scrape.

Agreed. It became a routine for me the past couple of weeks. Great product.

Cool Re: I am here to say . . .

I'd be concerned enough to get an expert's opinion if a product that pools moisture, may possibly damage the fabric.

Hey Frank,

Ask and you shall receive... Well sort of an expert opinion anyways.

This one is going to take me back a few years here, man where does the time go?

Way back in 2005 when I was first putting together my Detailing Guide, originally posted over on the old PT Cruiser World Site, and luckily made its way over to this great Website just before PTCW went off line, and is now a permanent part of this Forum, I did a segment on Convertible top care, and outlined a then little known product strongly endorsed by, and the only Product ever authorized by the Heart's Corporation who actually manufactured, and supplied all of the Original Equipment tops directly to Daimler Chrysler. The product that I used for this write up, and recommended was in fact Wolfstien's Raggtop Convertible Top Cleaner. Oh Yeah!!!

Here is that Original Write Up which is also found in my Detailng Guide in the Detail Section of this Forum.

Detailing Your PT: Convertible Top Cleaning

After receiving several samples directly from the Manufacturer for testing on several early PT Vert's way back when, I can honestly say, this Product passed my testing, and I would happily recommend this Product to anyone.

As always, if any of you have any more questions either on any Raggtop, or other related Products, or anything involving Detailing, I am always here, and more than happy to try to help out any way I can.

Go easy, and I will catch you all later.

Candyman

It sounds like what Candyman is saying is that the dealer's stuff is RaggTopp. But this stuff I got was a noticeable difference. I never noticed anything when I used RaggTopp the first winter.

When the water pools, I am talking about little water beads, some up to 1 inch wide. Which mean the water is not getting into the fabric.
