Default Window track off?

A while ago i noticed a weird vibrating noise coming from my driver door on the inside of the panel. I took off the door panel to look and the bracket holding the track to the door was snapped in half. So i had to deal with it a while and had my cousin weld it when we got time to do it. I'm thinking he welded it a little bit off or something because the window only goes about half way up than it stops and i half to pull back on the window to make it go the rest of the way up. I remember we took out the weather stripping when we did it to take it all apart nd it pinched together a little bit but we opened it with a screw driver just prying at it. When we first finished it went up/down just fine and worked perfectly. Can weather stripping alone cause this problem or do you think it might be both contributing to the problem?

I think both, being off with the welding will cause binding, and it doesn't take much to stop the window. You may be able to find a new track and a salvage shop. A couple of people are parting out PT's on this Forum.

I had a used car for my daughter where the electric windows were "tired" - would only go so far, then you'd have to pull up to help.
I sprayed silicone spray in the channel with the window all the way down, and it worked.
Can't hurt.

It's not that their "tired" its that it gets stuck. It gets wedged at the front and the back lifts out from that sideof the weather stripping. So I have to pull it towords the back to put it in place.

Then you changed the geometry with the welding - maybe you can bend the bracket to fix it?

It looks straight to me and my cousin who welded it. Would a tiny variation effect it or do you think i would notice the difference?
