Default Flashers Won't Turn On

I have a 2004 PT Cruiser. This past Saturday, my fog lights came on and wouldn't shut off, even when I turned the car off. When I would signal left, they would stay on, but when I signaled right, they would turn off.

Took into my mechanic and they replaced the Multifunction switch, which shut off the fog lights. However, it killed the flashers. They replaced the flashers but it still wouldn't work, so they put in another Multifunction switch. Now the hazard lights will come on, but the flashers won't. The mechanic spent hours on it and even took it a Chrysler dealership garage and they couldn't figure out what's wrong.

Any one have any suggestions? At this point I have a functioning car but no signal lights. If I can't fix it, I will have to buy another car, something I'm not keen to do at this point.

Welcome to the forum.
There's a module on the switch that is the falsher relay - if that 's there, may the connector suffered from the fogs being on - it shouldn't be rocket science.

Turns out the flasher switch was defective as well. The first multifunction switch was defective, as was the first flasher switch. Works fine now.

Thanks

Good news.
Too cold to stick your arm out the window to signal!

I see about 1/3 of drivers that NEVER signal, so good for you!
