Default Passenger Window Keeps Sliding Down - Auto Up/Down Not Working

Hi,
The passenger window is not able to lift the passenger window up and down. The driver-side window and the rear windows are fine.

The real problem is that the only way for me to close the window is by pulling it up or gripping it with my hands and pushing it up. When we go over a bump, it starts slipping down. It never goes all the way down, but enought to get plenty of cold air or rain.

So the question is: is the window off it's track or is it something else?

I am going to bring it to my mechanic, so I want to have some idea of what's going on before I go.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
Hard to say - I suspect the mechanism is stripped, not that it jumped the track.
There are gears that aren't metal - they are plastic or something.

Can you hear the motor running when you use the switch for the window? Had this happen in my Durango and the motor was fine but the window bar cable was broke. I too could move it up and down by hand.

No, I can't hear the motor doing anything when I try to raise it. When this first happened, it made a sort of cracking sound and then it worked one more time. I'm afraid to use the motor for fear of breaking something, so all I'm doing is keeping it up. When the snow and rain stop......maybe..... someday..... I'll try but so far I don't think I there are any motor sounds.

You realize it is ONLY auto in the down mode, not both up & down.

Good question. I'll have to try that.
