Default Acceleration Sensor

Has anyone had any problem this is bastard?
I got a 03 PT Cruiser Limited Edition 2.0 Auto.

Maintenence "fault" light came on, took it to the garage. Performance dipped slightly but it still drove.

reset light and carried on with life, then a couple of weeks later - light comes back on. Back to the Garage paid around 160 to replace sensor (inc labour and vat) now less than 3 weeks since the replacement the problem comes up again.

its doing my head in, half of me is thinking the Garage is bending me over and the other half is thinking oh Chrysler must be a tough car to fix (ie the computer)
The guy at the Garage has said it is probably due to the computer not reconizing the new Sensor?

sorry for long winded story thought id explain myself

Alex, welcome to the forum.

In order to help we have to know what the fault code was that made the engine light come on. Sounds like your mechanic is throwing parts at the problem with a good diagnosis.

In order to find the fault code read this:

How to retrieve fault codes.

Garage may merely be incompetent.
Get the codes and then you can Google the code and be ahead of the garage.
