Default PT Cruiser a Future Classic ?

Here is a link to an interesting article I read this morning, some of you older guys may remember Denise McCluggage, who was an well known female race driver in her time. See her comment on the PT next to her picture in the red polka dotted racing helmet down toward the bottom of the article.

Are classic cars dead as history repeats itself? - CNN.com

Any thoughts ?

It's got to end up a classic, their is nothing else like it, and will never be again unless they can make a car that runs on something that is cheap clean and abundant and than maybe every car wouldn't have to be so aerodynamic in shape.

I think if any of the PT's become truly "classic" it will be the '05 Convertible. The body and interior was changed in '06 making it a one year production car.

I still like my '06 better but that's just me.

I think my year (2005) might become a sort of classic because this was the only year of the 'vert with the old style front and rear ends. I'm probably just wishful thinking although my car still has under 10,000 miles on it.

If the PT should become a collector or classic car somewhere in the future, it will be 20 or 25 years before they begin to show any price appreciation.

Windancer thanks for the info on the '05 Vert, I didn't realize there were any unique features that were peculiar to the '05's.

The 05 Vert is somewhat unique as it was the first year of the convertible, it has the older style of front & rear ends. In 2006 they changed the front & rear ends as well as the interior. They have the "towel bar" and an upgraded dashboard.

My 2001 Ltd is my classic as I bought it for may wife for her birthday. Since she is no longer with us I would have to say her love for the car will live on forever in me. And I will make sure it is a classic in her memory.
