Someone crunched my poor PT

Just had to vent.... I was stopped behind a City Transit Bus yesterday after a 12 hour work day. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the newer Mustang coming fast at my car. He wasn't paying attention and he looked up and he slammed on his brakes but I could see he wasn't going to stop in time. He rear ended me and drove me into the back of the bus.. So needless to say the back bumper got crunched and the tailgate below the handle got damage at least I can still open it up. The front end, bumper, grill and all the lower part under the bumper is all torn up. At least my fog lights still worked. lol I pulled out the front end off the drivers side front tire so I could drive it home the 2 block I had left to go. Today the front was resting back on the tire so she is sitting home in the driveway waiting for the insurance adjuster to come over to look at it. So today I'm not a happy camper...My poor baby... The day before I spent all day detailing it too, so it looks all nice and shiney and smashed.

I feel your pain! Two months ago we lost our first PT when an 18 wheeler backed into it. I too had just spent several hours detailing it.

I hope things work out for you and they don't write off your car. We bought another PT because we like them so much, but even though the new one has more options, I don't like it as much as the first one we had.

He said he was looking away at the gas station by where we were at, but he asked to use my phone for a minute after the crash. He then found his laying on the floor of his car... so there you go.
Thanks guys just a little stiff neck other than that I'm OK. I could see it coming so I braced myself. I was just hoping when he hit me he wasn't going to drive me into the bus. Oh Well..

Suponea his phone records to see if he was talking on it at the time of the accident. If that is illegal in your state, then you may have additional leverage against him if needed.

Get that stiff neck checked out. Its amazing how sometimes a little bump can cause a lot of problems. I got a minor bump from a rear ender once that I didn't think much of at the time but a few days later I could barely move.

Both his phone AND texting records! I don't know about your state, but yeah: check both, at the very least he should be charged with some version of distracted driving. Or has he already been charged with something?

The dirty rotten PT-smasher...... (And forgive me, but I hope his car was an under-insured total loss!)
