I always here people saying these are old people cars. So I just wanted to know how old we are. My niece informed me that my car was not cool. LOL I am 42.

I don't know about it not being cool. Check out some of the PT photos on the web. Even some of the guys here like Candyman and Slayercross to name two.

You don't have to convince me. It's my 13 year old niece that needs the convincing. I don't care if people think they are uncool, older peoples cars ect... I love them. Of course I'm getting to be an older person.

I'm 29, I've had a thing for these car since I was 15 in '95 and the PT was a concept and still called a Plymouth. Fast forward to late 2002, I was looking for my first new car. The first thing I did was go test drive PT Cruisers! The only thing that stopped me from buying one was the fact that the dealer told me that they could not special order a 5 speed turbo model. He said that they didn't make them because they could not get the power to the ground.

October of '02 rolls around and I end up buying my '02 Jetta 1.8 turbo. March of 2003, I goto the Cleveland Auto Show and there was an electric blue turbo 5 speed PT sitting there. Needless to say, I was not very happy with that dealer I went to. Now, after all theses years I finally have my 5 speed PT, although it's not turbo.

Everyone at my work is busting my chops about the "old man" car. I don't think that it's an old man car at all. Unless I was a 60 year old trapped in a 15 year old body! I always say, "Drive what you like." Which is exactly what I am doing!

I'm 48 and love mine. Always wanted one since I first saw one. Even though mines smashed in the front and back due to somebodys lack of driving skills last night. Oh well guess that's what I have insurance for. Either it gets fixed or I'll buy a different one.

I'm gonna be 36 on Easter Sunday, and love mine enough that when it quits I am going to keep it and rebuild it without a doubt.

Sounds like your Niece needs to hit up one of the big all PT Shows and see just what coolness is all about.

How can you call something like this not cool???

My 16 year old daughter loves my PT which she calls Petey and I think she might try to get me to give it to her for her first car. I just might because it's a nice safe car but than I will have to get myself another one this time a GT. My 22 year old son has a friend who has a pimped out convertible PT so he likes them also. I think a lot of young people are scooping up the older GT turbos now because they are cheap and very easy to fix up.

I had to chime in and tell y'all I sent the link to this thread to his niece on Facebook. I want her to see how cool PT Cruisers can be!

Like he said, though, WE like it, and that's what matters! LOL
