Sounds ridiculous right?
I have a 2002 basic Pt Cruiser. There is no obvious drainplug that I can feel or see. I have a Haynes manual for Cruiser models 01-04 that shows the underside of a pt cruiser --- which is identical to mine except for the drainplug which I'm passing over. I've even used the gridlike bottom of the silver oil(?) pan where the oil filter threads into and a few other spacially contextual clues to approximate where the plug should be --- but I don't see it. I see where it might be, where there is instead a nut threaded around a standard bolt with two holes or identations in its head, but don't want to risk loosening the wrong thing, so... What should I do? Does someone have a photograph of what my drainplug should look like. Should I take a few photographs of the underside and allow forum members to pinpoint my drainplug? Can I drain the coolant system by disconnecting the lower radiator hose? If I can, are there any reasons I shouldn't? |

The drain plug is on the bottom driver's side of the radiator. Keep in mind, that being 8 years old, your car may have an aftermarket radiator installed. If this is the case and you don't have a drainplug, you'll need to remove the lower hose.
