Default new guy here with problems

Hey guyz. Bought my first pt cruiser in janurary and now its giving me overheating problems. its an 04 limited touring non turbo, with around 85,000 miles. anyways i have read that one guyz problem was his radiator and that it was clogged. I'm haveing the same simptoms. will idle fine, dons'nt overheat. once moving its starts boiling. so I have removed the radiator and put a hose to it. it does flow but i don't know how much it should flow. I can tell you that it don't flow very fast, but it does flow. Any thoughts. and my fans do work correctly. on idle and with ac on.

Welcome to the forum.

Since you bought it used and don't know the history, you can't tell if the previous owner used the correct HOAT coolant and therefore it could, as you say, be partially clogged. Everything has to flow around smoothly for the engine to keep cool, especially at speed.

You say it doesn't flow very fast. Do you have a radiator shop in your area that can thoroughly check it out? If it's restricted in any way, you might have self-diagnosed your problem yourself.

You can get a new one from EBAY cheap, so I wouldn't go to nuts diagnosing the problem. And like Crewzin said make sure you use HOAT in it
