His guess is as good as anyones. Unlike a weatherman who still gets paid for being right only 50% of the time.

This would be good news but even better news if they updated the PT's drive train. Like installing a turbo diesel engine and a five speed auto. And bringing back the GT version with more ponies.

Not according to the information at the dealer I work for. 2010 is the last year, and production for the Fiat 500 will move into the plant where the PTs were produced.

I question the knowledge of the person you spoke with. Sales for the PT have been dropping, which is the reason they talked about cutting it in the first place.

A car that looks like a part of auto history with it's retro look actually becomes history

It has been a good 10 year run. Other than the Daytona, I cant think of any other mopar nameplate that ran 10 years with the same basic shape.

Look on the bright side, there are plenty of used ones and parts should not be a problem since the junk yards will be full of them for the next 10-15 years as they age out.

Also who knows, they are bringing the Durango back afte r3 year absence on the new Jeep Grand Cherokee platform so maybe they can redesign something in Toluca for another PT in a few years.

The Durango hasn't been out for 3 years. 2010 is the first year they quit making them. In fact, we have a 2009 on our lot right now.
