Default Rear wiper

2006 pt-rear wipers quit working-pulled off rear side cover ,found no power to motor, after some checking I found a switch for $40.00,figuring what the hell I will try it ,no luck still not working, from what I understand ,the signal wiring from the wiper switch crosses over to the multi function switch, then possibly through the dash and out to the intergrated module by the air cleaner,Everything on this car works as intended except the rear wipers, this is driving me crazy, has anyone else had a similar problem like mine, thought it might be be the multi function switch going bad? Just dont want to keep throwing money and parts chasing my tail, any help would be appreciated. This is the only problem we have had since owning this car so I fell we are very lucky in that sense.

Have you check to see if there is power at the switch?

no,did not want to start back probing without wiring diagram, guess these switches use some kind of signal voltage, there are like 6 or 7 tiny yellow wires coming out of the switch and cross over to the multi function turn headlamp switch.

Check for power by hinge in tailgate - push pins into insulation to check for 12V.
You check fuses?

Were you getting power? If so, points to motor.....
If not, check for power at switch, then you have to check wiring...
