Default What front brake pads are people using?

I may need to change out my pads. I have 48K on my 2007 Base model Cruiser.

Advance Auto has the Wearever brand, Auto Zone has the Duralast brand. I can go to the dealer and get them (semi-metallic) for $62. Both the Wearever and Duralast semi-metallic are $22 for the economy and $36 for the Gold.

I was thinking of getting the Wearever Golds. Anybody ever have any issues with them on their Cruiser?

For less dust, I went with NAPA ceramic pads, hardly any dust on a 3500 mile trip.

A Chrysler mechanic here in Canada recommended NAPA ceramic pads to me for any Chrysler vehicle. For the few extra dollars it is well worth the money. Less mess and more stopping power.

I was hoping to say away from Ceramic pads. My car came equiped with semi-metallic and they have worked great, so I was just looking to replace with the same. The Napa ceramics run around $72, more than I was hoping to spend.

Anybody ever use Wearever or Duralast pads on their PT?

I read the NAPA ceramics are Raybestos.
I had them on my '02 and liked them.
On my '05 I went to Tire Rack - they have a wide assortment of good brake pads and I got ceramics there (forget which brand)...and bought Brembo rotors as well.

i have a duralast c-max gold from autozone. they work fine and came with new shims too, lifetime warrenty. once worn out take it back to them and they will give you a new set! that's what i like about it. ceramic too (frankly there is a lot of dust still coming out of it )

Good news. I took my wheel off to check the brakes and I'm still good. So, I can wait a while before I need to get any. I may just go to the dealer and get them from them when it's time. They appear to last a long time.

I've been using duralast for years. I have the gold on my 05 Caravan and on my 02 Jetta. When I have to change the brakes on the Cruiser I will use the same. The lifetime warranty sells me ever time. They wear out, take them back and they replace them for free.
