Default Another new guy

Hey now,

Bought my wife a 2002 PT Cruiser this weekend. Working through the Power Steering engine code now. Going to call the dealer tomorrow w/ the VIN to see if the recall was satisfied.

Before I go any further with asking questions. Which forum would a Q about the little air grille on the top center of the dash go? Looks like it pops out and can be replaced.

Well, here she is.

There is my bus under the tarp in the back.

Thanks.

Fez, welcome! There is a "sticky" in the Tech section of this forum. It has a download of the whole-kit-and-kaboodle shop manual. It takes about 70 meg of space. But it should help you with taking everything PT apart and putting it back together again.

Not sure why the forum isn't registering any of his posts.

If he's still around, the top vent doesn't have a part number accoding to my 2001 parts manual. The whole top dash and vents come together.

As far as I know, The only recall on the Power Steering pump was for a technition to visually look at the pump lines that run under the transaxle to make sure they are not rubbing. Appearently those line can rub right through by scraping on the transaxle and fluid could leak and maybe start a fire.

And Fezz - if you come back - take some WD-40 and fine steel wool and get rid of theose white sections on the bunpers closest to the body.
They are tape marks.
