Default Effect on Value

I wonder what effect the demise of the cruiser will have on the resale value of the ones we all own if any.I know I have our 08 for sale on craigslist much cheaper than any other 08 in our area and not one looker as of yet.

The normal person on the street won't even know that the cruiser isn't being produced anymore. Not a lot of "advertising". Others will shy away not wanting to buy a car out of production, some won't care. An awful lot of new owners with older PT's coming to this forum lately, probably because they are going so cheap. If your in the market, PT's can be found everywhere. Good luck with your sale.

Well, one small news story doesn't make headlines. With so many other brands hitting the stops (Pontiac, Saturn etc) another one just slides by without a fanfare.

I wouldnt worry too much.

I highly doubt people will opt to buy or not buy because they arent going to make them any more?

Per value, they already are tough to sell since there are so many out there.

I always like the PT cruiser and was a fan but after hearing about the less than great gas mileage and the fact that it was a Chrysler I was looking to buy a Honda/Toyota. But while shopping cars I found for less money I could get a mint low mileage PT versus a high mileage Honda/Toyota with some wear and tear. Plus it was love at first sight when I saw my PT and I'm totally happy with her except I wish she got a little better MPG . Even though for a SUV crossover she ain't bad on gas.
