Default What is this and why is it disconnected?

I noticed the two wires, one red and one white, were not connected. It looks like they should be. What is the device that the red wire leads to? Should I connect these wires? Thanks.

It will be hard for anyone on this forum to tell you what it is because it didn't come with the PT. It's some sort of after market add-on that the previous owner added. Yes it does look like they go together to complete some sort of circuit but I wouldn't just hook them up until you find out what it goes to.

Try and trace the white wire inside the car. It probably goes through the firewall somewhere around the area of the hood release cable. That's the easiest place to put wires through from the inside to the engine compartment.

Thanks, I'll take a closer look and research more of what it could be.

That appears to be a siren for an aftermarket alarm.
