When you say "warning light", do you mean the engine light. If so, the computer will have a fault code set. Use the link below to read the code and let us know what it is or look it up yourself.

How to retrieve fault codes.

no the check engine light, but all the lights that come on when you first start it. Really strange. Well driving they will all come on,and the gas gauge and speedo will stop working. Sometimes the car will stall, then restart it self. Wife is thinking she wants to trade it. feels alil unsafe

Sounds like to me you have an ignition problem. Not unheard of. It's as if the ignition was turned off while your driving. Guages go off, lights in the dials light up.

The ignition module where you actually turn the key may be your problem. Going bad or shorting out.

i could offer two possible explanations.

your camshaft position sensor could be going out. got a 2000 dodge intrepid, basically a chrysler, the sensor was going out and the car would stall for about 1 second. happened on the highway a couple times too. the gauges would drop down then the engine and everything seemed to catch back up, all in about 1 second. changed it and never had a problem again, car has over 190.000 now.

or i got a 91 deville and and a couple times all the gauges lit up and the car stalled. took me a week to find but my alternator wire was cut somehow halfway and made a metal to wire contact and made everything go haywire. replaced it and no more problems.

hope this helps.

had the camshaft position sensor replaced in december. dealer checked battery, said the made sure all connections were good, and said there were no codes.

I had this same problem on my drive home last night. Very unsettling-especially since I drive the I4 freeway in Tampa. Car seems fine-didn't feel like the engine missed. Did it four or five times-now ok. Any suggestions?

If I remember right someone had a problem something like this and it was the battery cable ends, they were corroded enough that they weren't making contact all of the time. The remedy was replacing the cables or at least replacing the ends.
