Default What is the best car manual?

I need to buy a manual, the shop ones you download are a little confusing. I'm so used to hayne's manuals with pictures and step by step. Dummy proof. And seeing all of the elctrical components under the hood I think its a good idea for me to have as I am used to basic mechanics..
Any suggestions as to what is the best one? I have an 03 gt, didn't see a manual at local auto store so I will have to order one, which is why I am asking this..
Thanks

You can't go wrong with the Hayne's manuals. I recently found a full set of Chrysler manuals for mine on Ebay for $30. One heck of a deal! Obviously, they are more technical but have tons of great diagrams and suggestions for repair. Honestly, I prefer the Chrysler manuals. Check online for a good condition used set.

Good luck!

I have both the Haynes and Chilton manuals for model years 01 to 03. They are almost identical, even using the same pictures. Too bad they didn't continue with the later years.

Crewzin, you also have a copy of the factory manual, don't you? How do the aftermarket manuals compare to the factory one in terms of accuracy and clarity of the procedures?

Yea Chris. I do have the factory manual but didn't want to push it since I downloaded it before you told us it was copywrited.

No comparison. Factory manual goes into much more detail and loads more pictures.

I have the factory parts manual also. Comes in handy when someone is looking for a particular part number.

Aren't those the factory manuals that are pasted as stickys in the subforum? I don't recall many more photos? Photos are good, they help me not mix wires up and put things back together once apart. It sucks looking at stuff underneath the hood only to think to yourself, "WTF is that?!". It's a little scary with things being so electronic nowadays. I remember seeing a bunch of coloring book looking drawings.. To me those are useless..They 3d line drawn models of every piece of the vehicle disassembled and distended in mid air.. Are those the factory manuals?

Anyone willing to leak it to me if not them?
