I went to the local wholesale fabric supplier that carries automotive fabrics, and bought 60" wide "trunk material" - that thick, woven wool-like stuff - to make cargo space mats out of.

Great stuff - $4.50/yd, 3 yds was enough to do from tailgate to dash. Easily cut, real thick and cushy, nice custom fit so it hangs over the edge of the fold down passenger seat, dark gray fits my interior, and less than $15. Folds up nice and small, although usually I just leave it in the back with rear seats folded down.

I cut it so it goes up the sides of the rear cargo area a few inches, to protect the plastic panels from lumber scratches.

First time I needed to carry long boards, I was at a hardwoods store. Bought some really nice walnut, but absolutely (wrongly) convinced 8' boards wouldn't fit in my PT, I spent 1/2 hr - and $16 in cutting charges - to carefully figure what I needed in my project, and have the yard cut that expensive wood to no more than 6.5' so "it would fit."

Go to load it - surprise!!! [xx(]

Just another bennie of this car!

I've fit a full mountain bike, a whisky barrel for putting plants in, and a big dresser. Also, Monday I had to put my mower's rear end in there and hauled it up to the shop to buy a new pulley.

But overall, I'm just glad I can get this thing in my car:

(Before I wrecked it and re-built it)

I picked up a new 42inch TV at Curcuit City one day, and when
the guy brought it out to load, he said, uugh, we will have to
take this out of the box eh? And I said Nah, one moment please...
After I ran around and folded the seats down & then forward,
opened the back - his jaw dropped. LOL
We slid the giant box right in there, and I shut the door.
He said, "man, I got get me one of those". It was classic![?]

It is definitely cool being able to load so much into what people think is a small car. It's risen to the challenge for me a couple of times.

Once in Florida with 4 women and all of our luggage and packages from shopping!!

Another time a while ago when I had to move items for a garage sale. I think I fit in 2 end tables and about 8 boxes plus two passengers. Members of my family who have had a mixed reaction to me buying the Cruiser couldn't hide the fact they were a bit impressed.

I love this car!

My car before the Cruiser (and still have it!) is a 94 Iris Metallic Mustang GT. We've got a pretty old house and garage... and with the Mustang I don't have alot of extra space when backing in.

The first time I put the Cruiser in there... well geeez... when did the garage grow?!?

I don't know if anyone out there is familiar with the BBC TV show 'Dr. Who'... but I think the reincarnated the Tartus into the Cruiser...[]

I'd love to load 4 women into my cruiser, I'm sure they would fit, but my wife might get a wee bit upset!!!
