Default Time to finish the project!

Well, I'll be departing Florida in about 36 hours to finally complete all the work I've been planning to do to my PT for the past 2 years or so.

The generic plan is already in my sig, but we'll be doing the following:

- SRT-4 exhaust modded with PT hangers (2.5, straight pipes)
- Cat delete
- EGR removal
- Neon 2.0 DOHC cams
- Timing belt kit (belt, pump, tensioner, pulley)
- Balance shaft chain removal
- AEM wideband
- Turbo composite manifold
- SRT-4 turbo setup
- PTGT intercooler
- Greddy Profec B Spec 2 electronic boost controller
- 5-speed swap from 2g Neon

There are tons (I think that might be an understatement) of parts involved, but I finally have all of them together in (almost) one place, and I've got a great friend helping me with all of it.

Anyways, wish me luck, and I'll be sure to post pictures when I get back!

Hahaha, sure man-- why not? Actually, funny as it may seem, I'm going to be just south of Saginaw-- in Flint. Small world.

Yeah, from what I've been told, there's some sort of serial killer running around Flint, stabbing black people.

Crazy.

Anyway, got here late last night, got the PT up on stands, and called it an evening.

Today, we checked the compression on the motor, (all good, but a bit low on cylinder 3-- we determined it's the valves and not a ring, so it's cool) and then pulled the motor and trans.

Goal for tomorrow is to swap the cams, do the timing belt kit, time the motor, install the clutch and all parts associated with the transmission, set up the oil lines, mock up the turbo mani, and then get the motor and tranny installed. Wish us luck!

Thanks man. We'll definitely keep you posted. Here's some more pictures:

^ Draining oil from the motor so we could access the balance shaft assembly to disconnect the chain.

^ Swapping cams.

^ Alex modified the inner timing belt cover for use with the new tensioner. We replaced the water pump with an SRT-style pump with the plastic impeller, and re-used my idler pulley since it was in fantastic shape.
