Default Analyze this Carfax Please? 2005 Conv. GT 36,000 miles

Hi there, I'm looking at buying this 2005 Covertible GT with 36,000 miles:

Used 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2dr Convertible GT in Bridgeport | Connecticut

Does anyone see anything negative that I should be aware of?

More importantly, I found this Carfax for it online: CARFAX Vehicle History Report on 3C3AY75SX5T289743

I wonder why there are ALREADY 3 owners within just 36,000 miles? The 3 owners in 36,000 miles scares me like there may be something wrong ...like VERY bad gas mileage. Any thoughts or comments are welcome. I'd like to make a decision within 4-5 days as I have other deals brewing. -tony17112acst

It seems like a nice clean car fax. Looks like a nice PT, the price is maybe slightly high but it does have low mileage.

I wouldn't worry about the number of owners. What's more important than the mileage is the age. The car is 5 years old, going on 6. If you look, the first two owners had it for over 2 years, and the last had it for over a year. That's a pretty fair amount of time to own a car and trade it. It just happens that none of the owners drove it much.

ther first owner loved the car,
very well mainted in it early life, unsure after 2nd and 3rd owner,
but was sold as a certifed 2 times,,
fyi, to get certifed it has to go through an ungoodly amount of checks,
and usally test driven by the tech,,
except for the last owner, seems nice,
i would ask for the opil change recipets for that price they are asking, and verify its changed every 3k, with a turbo,, the oil brakes down very quickly,,
if it hass all the records, at least 10-12 oil changes, not a bad price
if not use it as negotaion leverage to get a better price, ,
and do good plugs and wires on it, not dealer

Thanks for the input!!

On another note, two ppl noted that the price may be high. Well, when I look up the price on KBB or Edmund's, Private Party is a little over $10,000 and this is a dealer, which should be even higher! I thought $9800 was so ungodly LOW, that something major must be wrong with it. So you guys thing it's a little high? ...that would be good news. Any input is appreciated.

Also, I was going to buy this one:

2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser GT, $9,995 - Cars.com

...but he sold it to someone at full price! So I'm thought $9800 was good, but I can be wrong. I did get a commmittment from the dealer to take $9500. I have to drive 4 hours to look at it but I am hellbent on getting the red with the beige roof and the two-tone interior.

The leather on these seats are cracking within 30,000 miles, all my other cars with 90,000 + miles have no cracks in them, but I'll live with it. -Tony

Dealers always start out with a higher asking price and will always drop, also with a convertible the price changes with the seasons at least here in the north. It sounds like a decent deal, your not stealing it but your not overpaying either. The PT is a love it or hate it car so dealers have to wait to get the right person because it's not a Honda that they can put on the lot and it will be gone fast.

if you lke the car and are willing to drive 4 hours to get it
your going to be payng a bit more than the guy who walks off the street, and is looking to spend the least
your a bit stuck, as are you really going to dive back with out the car

not likely,, the dealer knows this
i would make it mperitve before i went down there it has a full maintence history,,
and i would negotate over the phone for a chrysler extended warrenty,,
because
"i cant bring it back here,
your 4 hours away,,
so i need an assurace its a good car
and i wont have problems,, cause i cant come back here and yell at you"
so if there are problems a warrenty will put me at ease"

Wait! ...a Chrysler extended warranty?

I called a few places for a service contract price and they're like over $2000. Since I wont be driving it more than 4000 miles yearly, I didn't think the $2000 was worth it.

BUT is there a chrysler extended warranty out there that may be priced differently?

THANKS AGAIN! -Tony

P.S. I think the drivetrain is covered for 7/70, so that would be till 2012?

if it has a long warrenty,,
pass on the extended,
have them find those service records,
though
yes they cost a lot,
but it is a fairly decent warrenty,,
and if you buy the car from a chrysler dealer,
most likely
you can get it for a bit above their cost,
, theres a huge mark up
good luck i lov my vert,
and yours looks very nice,
i love that tan as well on the red

This is about the same specs as my PT except for color and mileage (Mine had 28,000). Mine was a Touring Edition, not a GT, but it did have the turbo. I got mine for $8,000 in Missouri.
