Re: Anyone ever use Chrome Brite Tape?
Karen,
From AutoZone or Discount Auto ( I can't remember which) I bought a very thin sheet of chrome sticky paper. It comes in a roll (different sizes) and mine is 8 inches wide by about 6 yards long. It is very thin/flimsy chrome on a non-sticky backing so the chrome sheet peels right off.
I measured the length of the barrel on the struts and cut the 6 yard piece the same length. So now the piece I cut is still 8 inches wide but 30 inches long or however long the strut barrel is. I peel from the 30 inch side the chrome sheet and stick it on one side of the strut barrel and then carefully wrap the chrome sheet around the outside of the barrel over-lapping where I started. I do this very carefully not to get any wrinkles on the barrel. I start far enough on the back of the barrel so when I over-lap the part I started from, the ending edge turns out around the back of the strut so you can't see it. If the barrel can be turned, it doesn't matter where the edge comes out because yo can always turn it around when your done so the edge is at the back.
