A New Experience

Yesterday, I needed to run some errands so I got in the PT Cruiser and started it. It ran fine for about 3 sec then died. It acted like I turned the ignition off. I tried to re-start it, but all it would do was crank.

I removed the key from the ignition, re inserted the key and turned the engine over and it started.

The car sets in the garage with a battery tender on it and may set for a week or two with out being started.

It's a 06 GT Conv. Has there been problems with the Ignition switches on the PT's?

I ran my errands and the car started fine, but now I'm wondering if it was just a one time thing (I hate intermittent problems) or if I'm in for a future failure, only time will tell.

This is the kind of thing that really instills confidence in a person when they get in their car to go somewhere. I'm getting where I don't want my wife driving the car anymore.

Put some fuel stabilizer in the tank....
I'd throw some Lucas injection cleaner in, too.
To me, that the engine was cranking means the ignition switch did it's thing, and that probably taking the key out had nothing to do with the engine "catching", it was just a try that worked.
