I have a 2003 Pt Turbo and the other night going down the interstate i lost headlights, fog lights, dash lights and door locks. I looked through the repair book and all of these components run back to the multi function switch....is that what the problem is? Please help if you have had similar issues....

Door locks on the multi-function switch? Are you sure? The MFS is a problem for many owners. Cheap guts burn out and usually it leaves the lights ON and the battery goes dead but I'm sure it can happen the way you described.
The door locks are controlled by the RKEM in the dash.

Did you check all your fuses both interior and in the engine compartment. The No#10 fuse in the engine compartment fuse box is for the door locks. Head lights and fog light fuses are in the interior fuse box.

Yeah I replaced the #10 fuse under the hood when I was stranded on the hwy at night and still no luck....also checked fuses inside all look good....

Well, it's either the MFS (but I don't see that having anything to do with the door locks) or you have a massive electrical problem. I have heard of dealers saying they had to replace the whole fuse box. Maybe someone else will come along with another suggestion.
I take back part of what I said before. I just went through the wiring diagrams for the headlights and door locks and I don't know why but the drivers door lock switch has a connection to the headlight switch which is part of the MFS. So it looks like that sure could be your whole problem.... the Multi-Function Switch. The dimmer for the dash lights also go through that same MFS.
