Ah Wikipedia knows all! Thanks for the links. After driving the Mazdaspeed my friends call it the PT Loser but who cares. I like it and plan to keep it for a long time.

Chrysler initially identified the cruiser as "Platform tall" because it was based on the Neon chassis and the PT body was quite a bit taller. Over time it has become "Personal Transport". Platform tall just doesn't have the ring to it that people want to hear.

To heck with what it "really" stands for... What do you WANT IT to stand for?

For me, it means "Pretty Tempting."

The one that I like is PLymouth Truck. Since it was originally a plymouth and designed to look like a hot rodded 40 panel truck. Then the pinheads in Germany decided they did not want the Plymouth brand...so it bgecame the Chrysler PT Cruiser

Considering the number of us "seasoned" owners, I can only assume it stands for "Passing Through".

I think it depends on your mood at the time. At times mine has been "P-Turd". Other times "Pretty Potent" .. Relatively it could be "Pacific Terror.
