Default 06 base MANUAL TRANNY--oil drain plug location

Well, I've always changed my own oil since I got my first car in 1982, and I've never seen a situation like this one. I got under the car (a feat in itself if you don't have jackstands) and saw that I could most likely do the oil change without jacking the car up (good because I don't have jackstands).

However, the oil pan appears to have two drain plugs. I can't believe they're both for the oil, so which one IS for the oil? The one on the driver's side, closest to the oil filter, seems most logical to me...but then I'm not a car company.

The car has a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, if that makes any difference.

Can anybody clear this up for me? Thanks!

There should only be one drain plug. No#5 in the picture below. Not sure what other plug your looking at.

Did you buy the car used? Maybe someone stripped the OEM plug and put another one in.

CREWZIN, are you sure this applies for manual transmissions too? I remember vaguely hearing something about the drain plugs for the trans. & the oil being close to each other--but of course I can't find that online now that I need to. Just can't be too sure, KWIM?

Yea it does make a difference and I see you added that you have a manual trans. The manual does have it's own drain plug or maybe it's a fill plug, but anyway, the oil pan should have the drain plug in the same position as in the picture, next to the oil filter.
