2001 cruiser blown motor!!

Default 2001 cruiser blown motor!!

so my motor just blew or ceized or idk what hapened. now i found a new motor that came outta of a 2006 sebring and the engines look identical .
my question is will it work to swap them. the 2006 engine only has 12k miles and mine has 99k . any advice would be amazing.

I dont think so. (but im no athority) Didnt chrysler in about 05 change some stuff. I "BELIVE" its the same motor, but some changes have been made, hence some stuff wont bolt up (brackets, etc). I do know somebody did a swap on the forums.. do some searching.

My -GUESS- is you could use your old intake (maybe Head) and such and maybe do it, but that defeats alot of the purpose of a swapping in a lower miles engine.. if half of it is the old stuff.

keep in mind I know sqwat about the engine in these, lots of reading as I just purchased one... Somebody else will chime in with much better info.

It will not work. Your 01 engine is SBEC and the 06 is NGC. (Single Board Engine Controller and Next Generation Controller) Main problems is the crankshaft tone ring has a different tooth count and location and the 06 engine doesn't have EGR (Most likely) And the electronics won't swap either. Sorry.

dangit this kinda sux now. because i found that low milage motor for 400 bucks. now im going to have to look for another one
