Default Dimmer switch shot?

Hey Guys,
I have a 2007 PT Cruiser with 65000 miles on it. The other night the dimmer dial stopper working so now I cant dim my lights or turn on my overhead lights either. I played with the knob and it seems there is some play in the knob itself. I can push it towards the end of the lever a bit then the knob seems to get electrical connection but unless Im holding it it slides back and I lose my dash lights. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or do I have to take it to a mechanic? Thanks! Oh by the way I dont have any fog lights. Thanks again

Hey tough, you need a whole Multifunction switch. To change it out, there is a sticky on how to do it.

Yes, we have instructions on how to take apart the Multifunction Switch to fix the fog lights but nothing on the dimmer part of the switch. As Hooligan noted, you probably need a whole new switch.
