Default Door edge guard

I've noticed lately that the edge of my doors is getting chipped up a bit from the door hitting objects when it opens. I try to be careful about opening it, but I'm a big guy and can't really squeeze in through a partially opened door. Anyway, I'm getting tire of touching up the paint with my touch-up paint (which I keep in the glove box) and I know I could get an edge guard, but I really don't like the look of them. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you deal with it?

The edge guard is really the only viable solution that i can think of. im sure if you got one, you could always paint it to match your car. Wouldnt look nearly is bad. Most cars with them use them as another excuse to fit some chrome on their car

Yeah, but I really don't want chrome going vertically on the side of the car. It breaks up the horizontal flow, aesthetically. Maybe a clear one?

If you're going to go with them you'll want to get clear ones. They're still noticeable, but not nearly so as colored or chrome ones.

Whatever you do, though, you don't want to keep your touch up paint in the glove box. Changes in climate wreak havoc on touch up paint, and one of these days you're going to end up with a "painted to match" glove box.

I just finished touching up some door edge chip a month ago. Got the paint online at Touch Up Paint Online - Remove Car Scratches and it matched well.

I thought about getting the rubber guards too, but I am not sure how it will look. Since they are rubber, I wonder if it would be at all possible to paint them to match the car. My car is silver and the guards typically only come in black or chrome, I think both colors would stand out too much and might look tacky.

Cool Re: Door edge guard

I got the X-Pel protective film on the Black Sheep, and had him do door edge guards too.
Either 3M or X-Pel

I had the 3M on the doors of my 2008 Sonata and after about a year it started turning brown so I took it off.The car was white so it really stood out.
