Default Need to Change Cooling fan Motor!

I have a 2007 PT Cruiser and I just found out the Cooling fan needs to be replaced.....Has anyone changed there's out before and how difficult is it. the Mechanic said it would cost me $500. I found a Fan motor assembly on ebay for less than $100. I was going to change it myself but before I do I wanted to see if anyone on here has done it....Thanks!

Wow...I dont know if that is a job i need to tackle!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the Mechanic was getting the fan Motor assembly from the dealer which seems to be high on his cost but maybe it is better than what I am seeing on ebay for less than $100.

Its pretty easy to do if you are mechanical at all! I just did an ac condenser in mine in like 20 minutes, the fan isnt that much different. 500 bucks is WAY too much.

not a bad job at all i got my fan for my 03 on ebay works perfect ....as far as difficulty i would say if you can replace your cars brake pads you can do the fan...and think how much money youll save and the satisfaction of saying you did it

I just replaced the one in my '02 with a flea-Bay fan and it took me about 30 minutes.
