Default Automatic Trans question

Does any one know if you can install an autostick shifter to replace a regular auto shifter without having the dash and TCM for the autostick. Will it still function as a regular shifter. Thanks for any help. Plan on trying to upgade to an autostick later but have a chance on getting a good deal on an autostick shifter.

Hmmmm.
I don't see why it wouln't work, but then the TCM may not recognize autostick commands....

I found a procedure to swap out a regular auto shifter to an autostick and you do have to change the TCM and also the instrument cluster. I am working on gathering the parts but I want to make sure that I get them from an 04 or 05 as I beleive thay are compatible years, still checking on that for sure. I was curious if the shifter would just work in the normal auto mode, not utilizing the manual shift, without having the other parts installed, thank for the response.
