Default New owner, and first collison to report...

Hey guys, new PT owner here. Picked up my new (well, pre-owned new) 2005 PT Cruiser, with 91,000 km on the clock, chrome wheeled and pretty looking enough to keep me happy for now! Runs like a charm for the week or so we've had it, and the options with the back seats create a whole ton of storage for a smaller car!

And so....tonight was the first action (and hopefully the last) for the Cruiser. Driving out to the lake to give the car a good run, so make sure anything broken is apparent before the warranty goes out, and one of the planet's dumbest animals (an adolescent deer) decided life was too stressful with the recession and all and lept out in front of the cruiser, whilst we were going about 50km/h.

An emergency brake, a shriek from the missus, who was driving and a 20 yard catapulted deer later, the stupid critter got up, and limped off with what looked like a broken front left leg, and we were left to inspect the damage. The only catch, was there isn't any damage. Upon shining lights all over the front end the only evidence of the encounter was a little fur stuck next to the headlights, and the tiniest of indentations from the license plate hitting the bumper, which you could only see if you were really looking for it. Smiling Gods, an awesome front end, or the biggest slice of luck ever...either way, I'm very happy tonight!

So far...

Check the foam behind the bumper. Its there to asorb impacts but is a one time use. The bumper may look fine but behind it will be crushed and next time there wont be anything to protect the front end.

Ah, ok, I will have a look. Couldn't really get a good look tonight, other than the outside of the car, so I'll have a good nose tomorrow in the daylight underneath and see what damage has been done behind the bumper.

Thanks for the advice!
