Default Better light bulbs low beam?

I read that the front lights of the car (PT Cruiser 2003; low beams) are supposed to be the 9006XS-type.

The standard bulbs are a bit yellowish, and not so bright.

I wanted to know if there are some bulbs that are just a bit brighter, not too bright though...

I don't like those extra bright (LED?) lights you sometimes see on cars, that blind drivers.

I just want to be able to see the road a little better, a little more bright.

I don't know if there are some cheap LED lights to save some power, but it is not a necessity. I don't want to spend too much on light bulbs.

You can replace your bulbs with the Silverstar bulbs and it will make a big difference.

I've heard at times that the same wattage, but something like 5000K colors could look whiter and perhaps could be a tad more bright without increasing the wattage of the bulb.

I don't know if I got that right.

Phillips X-treme is my choice. But they make 9006 only not 9006xs. In my PT, 9006 fits.

Even better than the Silverstars, check out HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs

The H.I.R. technology is halogen infrared reflecting. The website has the whole history and the patent information. Due to the shape of the glass envelope and the coating, these are incredible replacement lamps.

They are around $24.99 each for the low beam bulbs. They put out an amazing amount of light. The tabs need to be trimmed slightly at the back for them to be able to be inserted into the lamp housings, but they mark the area to be trimmed for you. Their website explains all of the fine details.

I had bought a pair of low beams and high beams for my 88 Beretta, and they were like night and day compared to the "stock" replacement bulbs. They are about the next best thing you can get short of putting out the $$$ for a HID lamp system.

While there are many different options, for a drop in replacement I went with the Sylvania Silverstar 9006XS lamps. They are brighter, and at 4000K do get closer to true white (6500K). I ordered them from Amazon for $40, but you can pick them up at most automotive stores for about $50 if you need them right away.

Silverstar are great - don't expect them to last as long; but when was the last time you changed a bulb 'cause it was out?
