Default Ham Radio Install

Hey all...

Noob here (ducks flying objects).

I'm a licensed ham radio operator, and have had my radios in the PT since I first got it. But it's always just been the crude, squeezed between the seat and center job. It's FINALLY time to do a proper job. I was wondering if anyone else here was a ham, and if so, what'd you do?

I'm considering a couple options...

1. Disable the passenger airbag and mounting the rigs in the space/cover. (Never liked any of my passengers anyway...keep messin' w/ my stereo ),
2. Under the center console somehow.
3. Or the ultimate whacker setup, pull out the smaller back seat section and do a real mobile station.

Either way, I've had the "Boat" 2yrs and I'm not getting rid of the car until the wheels fall off, and I want a clean job. Any experience or opinions welcome. Thanks!

How about putting your gear onto a computer stand that mounts to the floor onthe passenger side of the floor console. They are highly movable, can be put in oads of different positions and can hold quite a bit.
