Default Help me identify a light

Hello all,

The light inside the hatch has burned out, but I do not know the name for it for search for the part.

What's the name/model of this light? And if you know, how can I replace it?

Not sure if it depends on the year of your PT or not. Mine's an '08 and uses a T906, but I've seen some say T904 for other years.
Might also be written on the bulb itself if you pull it out.

Mine is a 2007.

However I could not take it out. There are two sides where it snaps, but I could only get one of them free. I'll try it harder tomorrow.

My owners manual shows it to be the T906 also.

Try getting at it from behind and try twisting the whole assembly. I can't recall how I got mine out last year.

After twisting, and forcing out with a screwdriver, I was able to get it out.

But tilting the bulb in the mechanism made it start working. It's dimmer now, but got hot quickly, making it impossible to use my fingers to remove it - and the space is too small to use insulating gloves.

Now I have a dim light, and I'll have to wait for it do die again, before I can replace it.

Ok, I got the light out as well.

The last digit is scrambled, I cannot make sure it's T906 or T904.

And I could not find the replacement bulb when I searched advanceautoparts, amazon, and bing. The only place that has them is in UK.

Are there any compatible third party replacements?

2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser Light Bulb - GE Lighting - OE replacement

Alternatively, you could search google/ebay/etc for "2001 pt cruiser cargo light". I have yet to find what the correct wattage would be as I've seen multiple.

Crewzin posted the correct bulb number a few posts ago. They should be a stock bulb at any auto store.

I replaced mine with an LED wedge base bulb. A word of caution!...to remove the assembly take the cover/ door for the jack off, reach inside and pull down on the light base..it should "pop" out, the caution part is the lens, the clips are very delicate...ask me how I know?
I just today replaced my lens..cost me $13 Can..it's actually the lens that holds the whole assembly in the opening.
