Default Inner tie rod ends on an '07 replaceable?

.

Are the inner tie rod ends replaceable on an '07 PT?

At just over 40,000 easy highway miles, it's had lower ball joints and control arm bushings replaced... now it need an inner tie rod end, but I'm not able to find a part online.

The inner rods are removable and replaceable, but I can't find where Chrysler has them available seperate from the rack assembly. You may have to purchase the entire rack assembly.

There's a side note in the service manual anyway that states if you're unable to remove the rod from the rack that the entire rack must be replaced.

i purchased a set of inner tie rods off of e-bay, don't remember the cost.
but after looking at the rack and pinion looks to me it needs to be removed before replacing the tie rods so i never installed them.

It doesn't need to be removed. The inner rods are completely removeable from the rack, but there's a chance that they will be seized on, in which case the entire rack must be replaced.

You can buy them off the internet all over the place. I'm not sure which one are the better ones out of the bunch but I found these on the
Energy Suspension web site.

The inner?

Moog MOOG Part # EV404 UP to 2006

See Rockauto.com

I'd bet $5 it fits the '07; the aftermarket rack # is the same.

Mopar never sells inners, although they're (nearly) always available aftermarket.
The '95 only Neon came with a manual rack, you needed to find one from an
Omni to service, it's EXACTLY the same part- Listings for this component
required some guesswork.

The end appears to be chemically locked; the photo shows a tube
of chemical locker (Loctite).

Traditionally they are secured by 'staking' or a small screw (ford)
You can use a Crescent wrench or a pipe wrench. They make a special socket, but $$.

Don't forget the tool. It's essential. I have one I will sell to whomever needs it.
