poor gas milage

Default poor gas milage

my 07 gets poor gas milage now it only has 30k miles on it at 75-80 mph my rpm's or at 3000 is that way too high could it be my problem

What kind of mileage are you getting?The rpm's may be a little high but not by much.

YES that is one of the main reason the mpg's suck

Yes it is normal to be there if you are at 75-80

Yes this is the way of the PT

Underpowered

Heavy

Butr dang they sure look good going down the highway

if you get between 18-24 you are doing GREAT

actually iis a friends car so i don't know for sure but I was driving it on the freeway the other day and I noticed the rpm's at cruising speed and i thought it didnt seem right my old chevy barely hits 2000 rpm at 80 mph

Is your old Chevy a v8?4 cylinder engines rev higher than 6 or 8 cylinders,especially with the 4 speed automatic transmission.

yeah my chevy has the 4.3 v6 so what do fuel grade do u recommend she use in the pt she is currently running 87 in it idk if a higher grade would help

Does her car have a turbo?If it is NA 87 is fine but if it is a turbo she needs to run 93.

It's the four speed, anything over 55 and the MPG starts to drop off. If she had a five speed she would get such better mpg on the highway. My 02 Pontiac Grand Prix V-6 got better mileage on the highway than the PT and around town their close. And the Pontiac is twice the size!
