Default new owner

Hey all! Just bought an silver 05 cruiser with the 5 speed. I noticed it has a trailer hitch but there is no tongue. So I was wondering how many of you have used the hitch, would it pull a motorcycle on a small trailer, and what tongue should I buy (what size and class)?

Heres some tongues:
Class 1 & 2 Mounts
Not sure what ones fit.

Thanks for any help

Welcome to the Forum. I am assuming that the opening in the hitch is 1 1/4", the drop is what you need to determine to connect to your trailer. I forget what tongue weight you cannot exceed, but a motorcycle should be something you will be able to handle.

One other thing. The only part about the car I don't like is the lever that adjusts the steering wheel up and down. When I shift my knee rubs on it and the only way to get around it is to have the steering wheel all the way up. Anyone else have this problem?

Welcome to the PT Cruiser world Cruiserdude. I've owned my 5 speed since 2001 and my complaint is like yours but it's my right knee hitting the key switch and keys. I like the tilt at the present angle and the wheel is not comfortable when tilted too far up. You must have long legs like me.

Cruisedude, welcome to the forum. Does your seat have the electric adjustment to go up and down. If it does, can you lower it just a bit so your knee doesn't hit? If not, doesn't seem to be a lot you can do except move the wheel up ...or surgery

Barrels, If your knee hits the key switch, there's nothing you can do but if it's the long remote control for the PT that your hitting, get yourself a detachable key ring that you can take the ignition key off so it will be by itself.
