Cool new owner pt 2.2. diesal 2002 needs advice

Just saying Hi, and would like to know if anyone has suffered same problem I have.
My pt is rough running on idle as is the whole car shakes, as soon as I throttle a little its fine, some have suggested maybe a blocked fuel filter or jets "expense ouch" so I wondered if I should treat the fuel with the redex diesal cleaner-is this any good or will it cause me more problems, also I am after a code reader for this but only seem to find readers for 2004 onwards - why is this and can i get one for my 2002, thanks hope you guys and galls had a great crimbo and new yr. Mike.

Mike,

Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid 99% of the people on this forum have the 2.4 ltr gas engine and although there are things that pertain to both your diesel and our gas engines your better off with a forum where they have both and are more likely to have run into the kind of problems diesels have.

The United Kingdom forum has lots of helpful people and a great mechanic that goes by the username DREDD. They should be able to help you.

Here's the link to there forum in the UK. UK Cruiser Club :: Index
