Have you tried pulling the gauge covers off yet? The service manual shows that the lights are replaceable.

Two things to remember if/when you pull the gauge cluster
1) don't lay the cluster face down for more than a few minuets...the gauges contain "dampening oil" & if left face down TOO long it will leak onto the face of the gauges..or on the inside of the lens
2) The cluster is "self docking" that means you need to pull it straight out a couple of inches to properly release it...then when replacing it, put it straight in the last couple of inches.
You will see why when you look at the back of the cluster.

Very good advice from some really awesome ppl. Welcome to the forum by the way. greetings from san antonio.
I have an 07 and i've taken the dash apart twice so it's pretty easy. i don't know exactly what it's like for the 02 version, but on mine i pulled the pillars off first. the pillars are in the middle of the doors and the windshield. so after those are off then the dash pulls right off. you would have to get a good grip on the dash cover and pull forward. once that is off you gotta take the bottom panels off. the panels that are below the steering wheel. it wall has clips so all of it pops right off. but once you clear everything out of the way then there are some screws holding down the face plate and cluster, which are exposed after you take off the painted cover.
After all that it is done it should be easy to replace the bulbs in the cluster but then again i haven't gone as far as to taking out the cluster but bladerunner did give some good advice about what to do when you get to that point.
i hope this helps but maybe not since we have different models.
good luck.

'06 and up do not have the bulbs like the previous year's. <06 are lucky, they can change out a simple bulb. There's another thread here that has all the details, including the drawings from the shop manuals.
