Default USB port

can anyone tell me what it's for?
i plugged an iPod into it and... nothing.

Are you talking about the auxillary port on the left side of the radio?If so,it is for an ipod.You have to press the mode button until "auxillary" shows on the display and then the ipod will work.

Yes, if you're talking about the aux port on the radio it's for a mp3 player. If you're talking about a usb port it will be for keeping your computer, mp3, or phone charged while using it in your car. You wouldn't be able to listen to your mp3 while it's plug in only to the usb port it would also need to be connected to the aux port.

I have never seen a PT with a usb port.Was it available on some models?

I don't think so. I know some newer cars have them already installed (not sure about the 2010 pt)
I was thinking it was an after market. Here's a link to doing it

oh, OK, mine's a 2001, maybe it's aftermarket?
i'll try to take a picture, it looks to me like it came from the factory that way though.

i have one on my aftermarket radio. u have to enable the port under the radio options. what make and model of your head unit?

right, turns out, i'm sure it's aftermarket.
it's a JVC. "enable the port under the radio options" how do you do that...
i should stop being such a loser and read the manual.
