Default I bought a 2002 black limited edition dream cruiser

with 138,000 miles for $4,900.The guy claimed he changed the timing belt at 80,000 miles and took great care of the vehicle.I had it for a few days so far so good but i think I paid way to much for it.I was thinking about getting a rebuilt/remanufacted engine for this in the near future, any ideas where the best place to go is and cost?Btw i am upset they stoped making these cars, i like them alot.

As long the car runs as it should I wouldnt worry about replacing the engine. If it was maintained properly it should have a lot of life left in it.

Welcome to the forum, Greetings from San Antonio from Eve(07 Touring Ed) and I. The engine is right in tune with how old the car is but if it aint broke don't fix. I proly would've paid $3500 but then again it is a dream cruiser. Congrats on your new baby, so what's her name?

Congrats on the car. However, if it is black it probably isn't a dream cruiser. The 02 Dream was Aztec gold.

It's either an LE or a DC, but not both, and if it's black, well then someone has painted it and they'd have to be 90% retard to ruin the paint job on a DC.

I'm guessing your engine is NA and not turbo-charged???

Doesn't really matter but does sound like you were snookered into something. You did pay about a grand too much imo. However, PT engines and tranny's, if taken care of, run for a long time, well into the 200k's.

Chromenut- you're not guessing. You know the turbo didn't come out 'til 03.
