Default Always warm air coming out of the vents!

I changed my thermostat, because the prev user seemingly had removed it; and I noticed now that the engine runs hotter, that the air vents always 'blow' hot air.(when the fan or ac is set to 'off')

Not via fan, but more like outside air,
I tried to switch to closed air circulation (no outside air), and set the temperature to cold, but still get warm air coming in (fans are off).

I would agree if I set the right knob on the dashboard is set to outside air, that when driving some air would come in, but it seems I can not close the airflow of the vents.

Particularly annoying living in the South, and the summer's coming up (and I am not fond driving with the ac on),to continuously get engine heat (hand warm air) flowing in an already hot car.

What's going on?

Since a few years ago all vehicles were designed for a flow of air when the car was moving. What you are describing is normal that is why you have vents in the rear door frame.

Thanks for clearing that up guys!
Though, normally when you circulate the air inside, there should be no airflow.

Yeah, in the winter only (or any day when it's below 68 degrees in the mornings going to work, which happens about 40% of the year)

Neither one of our PT's has air coming from the vents when everything is turned off.

Yeah, on mine it's only when driving and slightly warmer than outside air;so I figured maybe the air circulation/outside air knob is broken or something!

That's what I meant. When I am driving and the vents are turned off no air comes out of the vents on either one of our PT's.

I met the air coming through, but when I switch to recirculating the flow stops 99% (still a little, but not noticeable.

I live just north of you in ft lauderdale, and in the summer, the air is not as warm as it feels now in our "winter"
Most of my heat is probably produced by the turbo motor (sitting at light with my arm out the window and a slight breeze I can feel the engine heat on my arm)
