Hello Members,

If u could plz see my link above and view a beautiful PT Cruiser GT 5Speed Turbo, Leather Interior that I'm seriously considering to buy. It's a 2004 second owner with almost 100,000 miles. And no, the Timing belt has not been changed, a lot of car owners here really don't do it, I don't know if its the colder climate here in (Calgary, Alberta) or what, but no one I ask has changed their timing belts!

The PT owners have had it for 4 years, they seem nice enough and claim to have maintained the car very well! (Regular oil changes & Rear break pads) They claim to have had no problems, can you PT owners give me some feedback and let me know how long you think it could last and what price do u think its worth, thanks kindly, I am in a such a PTcraze

Your link just brings up the forum.

Per your candidate, there is a lot more to PM than oil changes and brake pads.

I would look up the book value on it.

Also ask to see the maintenance log on it, or receipts.

They should of changed the coolant at 50K, and if your lucky changed the fluid in the 5 spd a couple times but I bet that got ignored.

Also if your lucky they repalced the lower control arm bushings and/or the whole arm, shocks and struts. Also a complete brake job including rotors and pads.

Other things which will need attention will be the upper and lower radiator hoses and heater hoses.

At 100K miles on every vehichle I have owned most of those have been changed as good maintenance practices.

Per the lifespan of a PT, if maintianed I would think at least 200K miles perhaps more.
