Default radio aerial connector

Hi

Before I pull out the radio to connect a new aerial I just wanted to know what the connection is on the back of the radio in case I need an adapter. I'd rather buy this up front than drive around with the dash board in bits.

I am fitting (hopefully) an electric aerial with a standard connector on the end.

Thanks

The connector used is not a universal connector. For some reason the big 3 auto makers changed to a different connector after 2000. You will need an adapter to connecto the new antenna to the radio or to put a different radio using the stock antenna.

Jassy, what part of Europe are you from? Can't be from the US, no one says "aerial" here.

As to the connector, just pop off your center cover and look. It's not that hard to get to the back of the radio.

You are right, Its the converter from standard connector to the socket on the stock radio fitted.
